And of Gad he said, Blessed be he that enlargeth Gad: he dwelleth as a lion, and teareth the arm with the crown of the head.

21 And he provided the first part for himself, because there, in a portion of the lawgiver, was he seated; and he came with the heads of the people, he executed the justice of the Lord, and his judgments with Israel.

Deuteronomy 33:18

The troop that would overcome Gad was the US Calvary led by Andrew Jackson.

The Buffalo Soldiers who were Israelites of the tribe of Judah, along with other Gaddites such as Apache, Cherokee, were tricked into aiding the Calvery in capturing many Indian nations like The Redsticks at the Battle of Horseshoe Bend in 1814. Jackson instituted the Indian removal act of 1830 which deported thousands of Native Americans to an arid area west of The Mississippi River. Thousands died of hunger, thirst and disease.

Gad was the seventh born son of Jacob.

His name means "troop." The name Indian comes from the Latin word "Indio" meaning slave.

1Chronicles 12:8
